Required data

You have to provide us with some data that we record in the RNI to register yourself at the Non-Resident Registration (RNI). The following data is mandatory:

  • First name
  • Surname
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Birthplace
  • Country of birth
  • Nationality

Additional data

In addition, you can have the following additional data included in the RNI. This data is not mandatory:

  • Residential address abroad
  • Temporary residence address in the Netherlands
  • Phone number
  • Email address

(Government) organizations can use the data you have provided to RNI if they need it. For example, to inform you in case of calamities. Or to inform you about your right to certain facilities such as health care. But also to remind you of your obligations during your stay in the Netherlands and the rules that apply here. Web form data

The data you enter on the web form is processed by us in a secure QR code and sent to you. You can show the QR code at the RNI municipality in the Netherlands. There the employee scans the QR code. The data is then directly in the system used for registration.

Note: You are not yet registered at RNI after you have filled in your details via the web form and received a QR code. You must go to an RNI municipality in the Netherlands to complete your registration. Here you will also show your valid ID.

What you need to know about the use of your personal data:

  • The processing of your data in the web form in a QR code is carried out by the National Office for Identity Data (RvIG) on behalf of the Ministry of Interior. The Ministry does this by virtue of its statutory duty.
  • Your data will not be stored using the web form. Your data will be used to create the personal QR code.
  • The processing by RvIG of your data that you provide via the web form is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (AVG).
